Route Pinner

Say which roads you want. Get a Google Maps route that sticks to them, with live traffic intact.

What to type
  • Start and end. A town is enough ("Ashton MD to Poughkeepsie"), or a name from My places. Leave out the start, or say "from here", to start where you are.
  • Only the roads that matter, in order: "95 to the Turnpike to 17 in Mahwah, then the Thruway to 84." Google fills in the rest.
  • Nicknames are fine: "the Turnpike", "the Taconic", "Rt 9", "the GW".
  • Say what to avoid: "not through NYC", "no GW Bridge", "skip Philly".
  • Where you join or leave a road, if it matters: "get on 84 at Newburgh".
